Thames Tideway Public Spaces
Victoria, Chelsea and Blackfriars Embankments.
We're very pleased that Artistic Metals has been chosen to carry out specialist bronze finishing for the Thames Tideway central sites including flagship Victoria, along with Chelsea and Blackfriars Embankments.
The first element and space we are working on is the balustrading which runs along the perimeter of the Victoria Embankment public space. This features our AM.7 aged bronze DARK - a smart deep toned perfect heritage bronze finish. Our AM.7 aged bronze and aged bronze DARK finish will be on key features throughout the Victoria site, including the balustrading, kiosks, pergola and seating. Some elements will feature two tones of bronze, highlighting decorative patterns on the kiosks.

Rochdale Town Hall.
Rochdale town hall has been newly restored. Part of the external improvements include a new glass encased main entrance along with handrails and balustrades to other entrances. Our AM.2 bright bronze finish was used on the steel handrails and steel and aluminium extrusion.

Office refurbishment in London's west end
This project encompassed metal coating and finishing onto new bespoke entrance doors, reception desk, balustrading, external lift doors and internal panelling, fixtures & fittings. Finish used - our heritage AM.7 Aged Bronze.

Private London Garden
Contract - To bronze metal coat and age to our AM.7 finish, garden structure fins, edging and seating trims and a large firewall surround.
The garden was designed by 'award winning' Andy Sturgeon Garden Design.

Bletchley Park: The Bombe Breakthrough exhibition - Hut 11A.
Contract - We applied our metal coatings (thermal spray) finished ‘Aged Brass AM.4’ to all the exhibition stands throughout this new exhibition. This permanent exhibition design, running till 2028, tells the story of the bombe machines in the actual location that housed the machines which broke Enigma during WW2.
The White Tower
Contract - To metal coat in antique bronze AM.7 and dark pewter AM.3 throughout the whole permanent exhibition area and gift shop. Our metal coating included exhibition stands, reception desks, chandeliers and lighting, kick plates and lecterns, wall panelling and signage. Fixtures & fittings, lights and upstands within the retail shop.
We applied both bronze and pewter coatings to various substrates including MDF and metal. One of the benefits of using an applied metal coating is the ability to match all finishes perfectly irrespective of the substrate used.
Dinosaur Gallery
Contract - Artistic Metals' bronze metal coated upright exhibition stands and fittings throughout the whole permanent dinosaur gallery exhibition. This included an extensive amount of aged bronze AM.7 finishing within an exhibition that has substantial footfall that would be susceptible to wear and tear. Our metal coatings are extremely robust so perfect for this kind of project.
London Bridge Station War Memorial
Contract - Artistic Metals' bronze metal coated in AM.7 the contemporary surrounding panels of the newly positioned war memorial originally commissioned after the first world war.
For this project it was important that the surround complimented the old cast memorial. We worked carefully with architects from Grimshaw to achieve the best metal finish match possible.
Anti-graffiti - Our metal finish is perfect for open public spaces as graffiti can be easily removed without damage to the real metal coating - unlike resin based coatings. Find out more
Houses of Parliament Entrance Control
Contract - We metal coated in antique bronze AM.7 Gunnebo entrance control revolving doors. It was important to create a finish that was in keeping with this historic period building. Our metal finishes are extremely robust and able to cope with daily wear and tear.
Bronze & Brass Reception Desk
Bronze and brass metal finish applied to a office entrance reception desk. A real metal finish provides a sophisticated touch and is often used in interior design projects where a lush style décor is desired.

There are many instances when a real metal coating is the most cost effective and suitable way of providing a metal finish look but without the expense and impracticality of using cast metal. Here are some examples of metal coating projects showing the versatility of thermal spray and decorative finishing. These projects illustrate how this process can be used on a variety of base substrates including metal, MDF, plastics, plaster etc. demonstrating how beautiful differing results are achieved.
Items that have decorative detail, unusual shapes or which have been CNC cut or cast are perfect for real metal finishing. These objects when metal coated then appropriately finished will appear cast like and cold to touch. Likewise, flat surfaces are equally suitable as our finish will visually resemble sheet metal, with or without patina.
Our real metal coatings are suitable for indoors or out. They are used outdoors on sculpture, on residential and public construction, entrance control, cladding, water features and outdoor furniture. And for indoors all of the above along with corporate and exhibition display, home interior décor, wall panels, balustrading and sign work.
