Blackened steel comes in many variations. Anything from smooth dense matt to a mottled translucent satin like texture. This modern architectural finish is found on furniture, hardware, fixtures & fittings and often used within building design to provide a cool contemporary look.
There are various ways to achieve a blackened steel patina and to varying degrees of tone and depth. But the end appearance will depend on the final finishing coat, either matt, satin or gloss. And that may be in acrylic or polyurethane lacquer or wax polish.
We can tailor specific finishes for client specification. Contact us for more information and advice on 01825 763485.
Please note we create finishes on client supplied fabricated substrates. We do not hold stock of blackened steel.

Below are some blackened steel reference samples illustrating the finish effects on different substrates. Blackened steel usually has a random finish which can appear patchy, sometimes bluer in tone but often with a brownish tint.
